Riviere Noire > Lagon du Morne

Arrival in Mauritius with a warm welcome onboard your catamaran at La Balise Marina in Rivière Noire, located south west of the island. Boarding at 13h00 (01:00 pm), for a briefing on safety and the program of the cruise.

Departure to the lagoon of Benitier, only half an hour sailing away. You will spend the afternoon in this beautiful spot. Admire the sunset and depending upon clear weather conditions you may be able to see Reunion Island's summit on the horizon.

Lagon du Morne > Mont Choisy

When you wake up your guide will suggest for you to go and greet some dolphins on a motor boat, provided you booked the excursions package.

Back to the catamaran, after breakfast, the crew will set sail to the lagoon of Mont Choisy. You will enjoy the rest of the day in this wonderful paradise. The beautiful beach shaded by filaos welcomes you for an picturesque swim. Enjoy another incredible sunset with the Moka mountain range in the background.

Mont Choisy > Grand Baie

After breakfast, relax and embrace Mont Choisy's impressive lagoon and feel free to go swimming, snorkelling and kayaking.

If you booked the excursions package, you will have the opportunity to visit the Sugar Museum and Garden of Pamplemousses. You will discover the lush vegetation and exceptional flora of the oldest botanical garden in the southern hemisphere. In addition to this you will learn about the culture of sugar canes and how this has played a crucial role in the history, and development of Mauritius.

After this excursion, the catamaran will sail north, and depending on the meteorological conditions, will moor at the bottom of Coin de Mire cliff or in Merville lagoon for a snorkelling session.

The end of the night will take us to Grand Baie, a reputed beach resort. Take a wonder and discover the exciting nightlife, unless you prefer to spend a quiet evening on board.

Grand Baie > Cap Malheureux

On Saturday morning, Grand Baie will wake up as slowly as you will. After a well-deserved sleep-in and a rich breakfast, take your time to discover Grand Baie shops and stroll through them all at your own pace.

On this 4th day the Morne Dream cruise passengers will disembark and we’ll welcome the guest boarding for the Gabriel Dream cruise.

Your catamaran will sail to the very north of the island and will stop in Cap Malheureux bay for the night, with the famous red-roofed church as a sentinel.

Cap Malheureux > Ilot Gabriel

In the morning you will have the opportunity to visit the Domaine de Labourdonnais Sugar Estate with its castle, alluring gardens, old orchards and rum factory (in the excursions package). On your way back you will be amazed after a visit to a world-renowned factory of model boats.

After lunch on board, you will start sailing to L’Ile Plate and Ilot Gabriel. Depending on the meteorological conditions you will stop for snorkelling in the bay of Palissades or in the west coast of L’Ile Plate.

Your catamaran will then moor in the lagoon of Ilot Gabriel. You will spent the afternoon as a Robinson Crusoe, discovering the beauty, the seclusion and the quietness of this mooring located in the middle of blue lagoon, between L’Ile Plate and Ilot Gabriel.

Ilot Gabriel > Riviere Noire

After an early swim and harmonious start to the morning in these secluded islands, we will sail south west to the bay of Rivière Noire.

Spend a quiet night at anchor in this fine fishermen village now converted into a favoured touristic location. A charming bay, protected from the winds by a majestic mountain range will engulf you for the night.

Riviere Noire > La Balise Marina

After a hearty breakfast, during the optional excursion you will visit a village in Chamarel where you will discover the coloured earths magic and the fantastic view on the lagoon. You will then visit a rum distillery and enjoy a delicious traditional lunch.

Later your catamaran will sail through this southern part of the island so that you can visit the snorkelling and swimming spots. Depending on the sea's rhythm, you will either disembark at Tamarin's mythical beach or explore the mouth of Rempart river with a sea kayak.

After this active day you will spend a quiet night at La Balise Marina, ready to pack your possessions and recall all the wonderful memories made during the cruise.

La Balise Marina > Disembarkation

Very compltet holiday

Swimming, kayaking, snorkelling, eating - we did it all. I think I might need another holiday to recover but it was well worth it.

By Allison

Great comfort

A floating hotel room, essentially. It was really nice, not so anoymous as resorts, and being able to move the boat around and swim whenever you liked was great.

Quality realxing time

My sailing friends wanted to charter a boat in Mauritius. Instead, I persuaded them to book a couple of cabins on a catamaran sailing week. We had an itinerary (but we didn't absolutely have to stick to it), we made friends with other couples on board and we didn't have to worry about looking after the boat or finding moorings. It worked out cheaper too. I will always go back to sailing but it was so good to have a holiday with nothing to worry about and time to catch up with old friends and read my book.
